Audience:, Grade 4-7 Teachers, Elementary Counsellors
This is a companion to the “Puberty”workshop offered in February. If you attended the first workshop you will learn new information; if you didn’t attend the first you will benefit from this workshop. It addresses teaching social and emotional changes and sexual health as part of the PHE curriculum and Personal and Social Core Competencies.
In Grades 4-7 bodies and minds are changing. Students need information and conversations around media literacy, critical thinking and consent. Supporting students to make healthy decision on and off line can help young better understand and make decisions based on knowledge and their values. Jessy will be offering support around how to talk about pornography with the purpose of protecting young minds from images intended for adults. Leave the workshop feeling more confident to teach these topics to help your students make healthy and informed choices.
