This interactive workshop is designed to support Vancouver Educators by fostering STEAM, MakerEd, & Digital Literacy skills.  Educators will walk through a series of both unplugged and tech enabled coding options for students from grades 1-8.  The workshop is dynamic and hands on. 
Teachers will walk away with resources to implement in the classroom the following day.  The workshop will model innovative learning goals and success criteria along while offering effective assessment strategies in place for learners.  In terms of design, the content is accessible, multimodal, and been developed using UDL.  
The second portion of the workshop will be focused on Maker Education and how educators can design and implement activities that support 21st century competencies which are viable during covid-19.

Workshop Overview:


  • Please bring a laptop/computer with at least one USB port
  • Attendees will benefit by having a tactile micro:bit (with cord) present although not required. 
  • Stable internet connection
  • Active Google account to interact with slides
