This workshop will introduce the stages of early social development and the pre-linguistic skills acquired prior to the emergence of first words. Strategies and supports for targeting these early skills in students who have not yet acquired them due to developmental disabilities will be explored using the SCERTS model.The focus will be on using interpersonal and learning supports to target specific goals. Participants will have the opportunity for hands-on practice, asking questions and sharing ideas throughout the course.
