8:30 - 9:30 AM: Healthy Eating on the Go
It can be difficult to sit down for a healthy meal in today’s hectic environment. With busy schedules, long work hours, and competing priorities, you may find yourself eating out more often than not. However, with a few simple tips, eating healthily is possible even on the go. This seminar will motivate participants to optimize their eating habits and improve their health, energy, and performance.
9:45 - 10:45 AM: Silencing Your Inner Critic
Is there a little voice in your head that often says to you: “What a dumb person you are!” or “You won’t do it right, so why bother!” or “Either I get that new job, or I’ll be stuck in this one forever!” Your inner “Critic” is that voice – the one that is all-to-ready to berate, criticize, and demean you. If your “Critic” is not managed, it can rob you of feeling good about yourself. Strong self-esteem – the value and worth you put on yourself – is an attribute that enables you to succeed at work and in relationships. In order to have healthy self-esteem, it’s important to confront the “Critic” and change the language of that internal voice. There are many strategies that can help people develop healthy self-esteem.
11:00 AM - 12:30 PM: Road to Resilience
Resilience is a learnt skill which can be applied immediately to better manage reactions to crisis situations; as well as it can be cultivated over the long term for a healthier, more robust approach to the demands of daily living. Join us in this 90-minute session, to learn practical, easy-to-use strategies which motivate participants through clear calls to action for short, medium and long-term resilience building skills.
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Healthy Active Living
Anyone can benefit from regular physical activity. Research shows that moderate amounts of physical activity on most days of the week can improve your health and quality of life. This seminar will teach participants about the benefits of being active as well as the risks of inactivity. They will also learn about the components of fitness and activities, and the six stages of behaviour change toward a healthier lifestyle.
2:15 - 3:15 PM: Budgeting and Your Net Worth
A budget and net worth are crucial tools when navigating your financial life. Together these two statements give a solid picture of where you are today and will help you travel to where you want to be in the future. Many financial planners say that people live on cash flow but retirement and satisfy their financial goals through their net worth. An effective and realistic budget is a precursor to building net worth as a monthly positive cash flow balance is the only way to save, invest & build net worth.
